RTW ticket or flying as you go?

Travel Forums Round the World Travel RTW ticket or flying as you go?

Hi everyone,

I am planning on doing a RTW trip. I would like tot take advantage of the full 12 month holiday make visa but combine it with seeing various other stops on a RTW trip. Do you think it is worth booking a RTW ticket (Which are normally only valid for up to 12 months) or to buy single tickets all the way with no time restrictions. Is there anyway I could get a RTW ticket that lasts for maybe 2 years?

Thanks,

Claire

Sorry, that should mean a 12 month Australian visa!

Hi Claire,

I'm in the middle of researching a RTW trip to start next January. I've been looking into this RTW ticket thing for ages now. From what I can gather, you can only get a RTW ticket valid for 12 months.

Like you, I want to take full advantage of a working visa (for NZ), and I have a MILLION other places I want to visit as well.

In the end, I decided to abandon the RTW ticket and I'm just going to get buses/trains/flights as I go along. There are way more advantages for me personally to opt for this method.

e.g. if you cant get a cheap flight out of a particular country, you can just hang about there until you do!

When are you heading off anyway?

Ev

Hi Ev

Earlier today, one of the China members asked me about you WRT the
Asian TP Gathering (Refer Post #33)

It seems as though your travel dates may have changed.

OK Ev ...

I had a quick read. Looks like you've been busy setting up your TP blog.

One very kind TPer recently recommended a free website to me, on which you can change the background effects and music. You might like to play around on one of your own whilst in the office. I'll send you the link by PM.

Cheers
