Hi there TP friends,

Within 2 or 3 years (after graduation...) I am willing to travel trough these three countries. My question: what's your best and most amazing highlight (please only name one) in:

1)Vietnam and/or
2)Laos and/or
3)Cambodia

Thanks very much!!!!!!

1) Vietnam: the market at Bac Ha (in the Northern Highlands, to the East of sapa). Actually, the entire Northern highlands with the Black H'mong, Flower H'mong, etc.. A highlight of SE Asia for me.

2) Laos : Cruising down the Mekong from Luang Prabang to the Pak Ou Caves, stopping in villages along the way.

3) Cambodia : This is an easy one. Angkor Wat! More specifically wandering through some of the Temples that are still covered by giant tree roots, etc..

4) Burma : Too many to choose just one .

These would be my picks:

Vietnam: Cu Chi Tunnels, Hue (I dont know why I loved Hue so much but I did) and for what I hear Halong Bay. I wish I had gone there.

Cambodia: Angkor Temples (Siem Reap), S-21 (Phom Penh)

Laos: Didnt go there but take a river cruise.

Hmmm, hmmm...ANGKOR ALL THE WAY!! Actually the whole purpose of my trip to Asia originally was to see the Temples. I had seen a picture on a magazine and I said, I HAVE TO GO THERE! When the car pulled up to Angkor Wat and I looked at it from afar...I shed a tear. It was so impressive and I was at awe to have traveled literally around the world to be in the place I had only seen on a magazine.

Vietnam:
Hanoi old quarter, when the sun has just set and all the locals have dragged their mini plastic chairs and tables out onto the streets and are preparing dinner. The smells, sounds , people, motorbikes... It's intense!

Cambodia:
Angkor Wat, of course.

:)

Ankor Wat is by far the best in Cambodia, but off tourist season is the best time.
