It will be the next book on my list, then!

I'm finishing up Bill Bryson's The Lost Continent now- good god, but that man is funny. I keep getting stares from people on the bus cause I'm laughing by myself.

Okay, I'll put that on my list then. I could use something light. Been reading a lot of heavy stuff recently.

Hey, we should have a TP Book Club!!!

Quoting tway

That reminds me of something a workshop moderator told us a few months ago. The poor man spoke almost no English, but really liked the old K.I.S.S. acronym: Keep it simple, stupid. Except he kept saying: Keet it simple and stupid.

Keep It Short & Simple is also recommended

So when are we starting the book club?

I agree with tway's posts, especially the part about the thesaurus. I don't encourage using the thesaurus unless one is really adept at the language and comfortable with playing around with the nuances of words. I've seen writers pile it on and you just know they consulted a thesaurus while writing, it's so obvious. It hurts my delicate eyes.

As for the K.I.S.S. acronym, my dad never heard of it, but he told me a long time ago to always keep my writing simple and refrain from using big words. I guess I listened to daddy on that one. ;)

It may sound a bit corny, but I've seen this notice posted on one the walls around here:

"Education is a journey NOT a destination"

TP Book Club? Wow, cool! I have dozens of books kept in my another 'bedroom'...anyone interested?

Dreaming of having a nice and scenic library where you can view the sandy beach and carpeted with green grass in the backyard...old placrds and old books and dusty floor...
