Hey everyone!! Need a bit of help! Myself and a friend are doing a summer camp this year and after we spend a few days in New York we want to go to Canada for about a week or so, but we need a nice cheap way of getting there!!

We are thinking bus would be the cheapest, but we want to go from New York to toronto as my friend as a friend who lives there, also we are thinking of Montreal and maybe one other place.. are there any special bus passes you can get for a certain number of days or any special deals etc?? After Canada we will need to get back down to New York..

or is there a cheaper way other than bus?? Money is the main issue because we have already been travelling for 6 months and money is very very low!!!

Hope some people can help us out!!!

Hi Julie,
I looked all over for tickets from Montreal to New York that would cost me under $100 Canadian, return. But no luck!

However, take a look at Via Rail and Greyhound. They'd be your best bets.

Maybe look at cheap airtickets. I know that Westjet and Canjet both fly from New york to toronto (here are you options http://www.ghptravel.com/htm/cfly/lga.htm

Hope it helps,

Hi Julie,
Another option to get from New York to Toronto is to log onto www.craiglist.org. Click on the "New York" link and then click on the "rideshare" link. I am sure there will be people offering rides between New York and Toronto. If not, make a post there saying you need a ride from New York to Toronto. You will probably have to split gas and toll money with the person driving you up there. This is probably the most economical option for you. Send me a personal message via this website if you have trouble finding the rideshare posts. Hope this helps.
