I used to like reading them when I was in High School...then it seemed like he only knew how to recycle stories/plots/characters/etc..(I kept thinking I must have read this before! :( )I haven't read anything of his in ages...but I have to admit when reading last night in the dark house..everyone else is sleeping..it is a fun kind of scary! ;)

WELCOME TO THE TP BOOK CLUB (again...)

This thread had quite a bit of momentum for quite some time, but it slowly crept farther down the page until it was gone from view. I get the feeling that had more to do with "out of sight - out of mind", than with lack of interest. And, I know that good books are mentioned frequently in other threads and in chat. So, since we all like a good read now and again - especially while sitting in airports, planes or doctor's offices - I thought I would bring it to the forefront (at least for awhile) and see what happens.

Good Good Godd...i thought I am going to bring it to the front today but after logging in, this thread comes with sticky <emoticons: applause>

Latest: Paulo Coelho: Zahir: it's about a famous author who finds his wife has disappeared..and the possibility linked with terrorism. The author travels to many places and he... Find out yourself if you want to know what happens next...

(to be continued...)

No worries, lovelee I had to get it too ;). My sweet mum even read the whole first Harry Potter novel out to me when I was really sick a couple of years ago (at the age of 20!!!). Can't wait to find out what's going to happen in this part.

I've been told not to buy it because I'm getting a copy for my birthday (which is 2 weeks away). So, PLEASE, PLEASE - DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!!! Thank you so very kindly!!!

I read one, then Beerman reads it, and then we loan it out to his mother (who's 77). She loves them. We gave her copies of the movies too. I think she's hooked!!! ;)

Just finished Hotel New Hampshire for the upteenth time. No one writes like John Irving. When's he coming out with a new book, anyway???

A friend has now lent me The Kite Runners, and so far so good...

Awww! Thanks, Lee! My favourite John Irving book is still A Prayer for Owen Meany - have you read that one?
