Hey Karl

I too am ruled by my love of the beautiful game. I've been here since January, and i can confirm they love their footie (soccer??why??)

The games are shown in most of the sports bars in the major cities however they are on a ludicrous hours of the morning.

The atmosphere for the fa cup final (i watched in an irish bar, Bridie o'riellys, chapel street, Melbourne) was imense, just like being at home!

The Champions League Final (I am a liverpool fan,by the way, Well done lads!!) i didn't watch the game in the pub as it was on at 4.45am, but after the game at work it seemed evryone had got up to watch it and were in celebratory mood as an english team won it. Come on!!

So yeah, for the world cup you'll be fine, loads of places to watch it.

I watched world cup 2002 in Turkey and that was probably my favorite tourney to date as the partying is non stop for days after a victory and a the sense of national pride is even stronger when in a foreign country.

Oh the guinness is average at best
