Travel Forums General Talk Changin Passenger on Airline ticket?

My soon to be x bought a ticket for her daughter to come for a visit...she now doesn't want to come. She tried to change the ticket so a friend could come instead, but the airline said no way because of "security issues"....!! The flight isn't for three WEEKS I think they can check out the new passenger in that time........

Any ideas? magic words? I KNOW how to change a travel date that says NO CHANGES on the ticket....but not this.

Thanks!

You can change the name on a ticket, there will be a charge...usually 50 dollars, sometimes up to 200. Just call the airline it was issued through and GOOD LUCK! ;)

Hiya

unfortunatly they are right you cannot change the name on a flight ticket if it is a sheduled flight as the airline classes it as a cancel and rebook unfortunatly at the new more expensive cost, if its a charter flight it can be changed for an admin feef the airlines discression.... if you booked it in a travel agency go to them and see what they can do but if it was done on the internet ring the airline and prey that you get somebody nice

I have changed the name on a ticket twice, once on KLM and once on American Airlines. I was charged 50 dollars the first time, and 110 the second. Worth every penny. I wasn't about to just throw it away. Give it a try, it never hurts to ask:)

Thanks for the replies. I think the basic problem here was that she bought the ticket through priceline.......bad idea it seems, as they won't do anything regardless of the situation.
