Hi Guys,
I am planning for a 12 day Trip to Rajasthan in a couple of weeks. I really do not like to visit Tourist spots like palaces, lakes etc...

I am planning to roam in the desert. Any of you know off-tourist spot but different spots, please do let me know.

Thanks in Advance.

Besides the main places in Rajasthan, I liked my visit to the "Rat Temple" near Bikaner. Also the Jain Temple at Ranakpur was very interesting.

I will be in India near the beginning of August. I'm thinking of going from Kathmandu to Varanasi over to Khajuraho, Orccha, Agra, Jodhpur, maybe Jaisalmer (sp) and Bikkaner(sp) before heading over to Delhi and back to Bangkok. Is there more to Agra then the Taj? How long in Delhi or is it just a typical large city. I'm more interested in the off the beaten path destinations.

You should really try and get to Jaisalmer, it's a great place to visit!

While in Rajasthan, also try and get to Jaipur. It's not that far from delhi and on the way to Jodhpur.

You don't need much time in Delhi, check out the Red Fort, etc.

Khajuraho is Great!

Off the beaten path (in Rajasthan): the "Rat Temple" I mentioned in above post. Ranthampur Tiger Reserve.

If you don't want to go to any tourist spots, Rajasthan is not the place to be, ksuriana. I mean Rajasthan is one big walhalla for tourists, its a tourist magnet, more tourists then Indians. You can eventually take a alternative camalsafari if you are interested. I did it and you don't see one tourist, just great.
