Berlin, June 9: A German city is rushing to install a series of drive-in wooden "sex garages" in time for next year's Soccer World Cup and an expected boom in the local sex trade, a city official said Wednesday.

Dortmund, one of 12 cities to host World Cup matches, is anxious to keep prostitutes and their clients off the streets by providing them with discreet places to do business.

Experts estimate as many as 40,000 prostitutes may travel to Germany to offer their services to fans during the tournament.

Hermit ends 40 years alone after fire extinguished

A Solomon Islands man lived as a hermit in a jungle cave for 40 years before returning home when his fire went out, a local media report said.

The man, identified as Philip Uduota, from the north-east of the island of Malaita had been living alone in a mountain jungle cave in the South Pacific island nation since 1964, the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reported.

Uduota, who is aged about 80, depended on food which he gathered from the forest but he returned to his home village in search of fire after his own fire went out.

After reaching home, his relatives urged him to remain and he decided to stay with them in their village, the report said.

Nearly 40% Of French Men Wish They Could Be Pregnant, Poll Says

POSTED: 7:25 am EDT June 13, 2005

NEW YORK -- Forget sympathy pains -- nearly 40 percent of French men said they want to go through the real thing.

According to a poll published in the current issue of Children's Magazine, 38 percent of the 500 French fathers questioned said they wish they could be pregnant and go through labor instead of their wives.

And the poll finds many women would be OK with that. An even greater percentage of them said they would be up for the switch.

The same survey said 71 percent of the French men surveyed said they're prepared to take a year-long sabbatical or put in a request to work part-time to be more of a hands-on dad.

The poll was conducted by the marketing company Ipsos.
