Big Up to all the Skye fans, but after a year in the country, I gotta recommend the Isle of Arran.

Yep the Isle of Arran is also nice, particularly Glen Rosa, there's a nice camp site there about 2 miles from the nearest town in a U-shaped valley - very pretty. I live about ten minutes from Ardrossan(where you get the Arran ferry) however, so having spent about 80% of my childhood holidays going to Arran you get kind of sick of it!

I've been in scotland one time, about ten years ago. I remember Melrose Abbey, Eddinburgh of course, Isle of Skye, Urquart Castle, Eilean Donnan Castle, and the Brigde over The Firth of Forth by night!
And tomorrow I'm starting a trip to scotland for 10 days! ;)

Heh, I'm going to Germany on Sunday we should have arranged to swap houses - much cheaper!

Glasgow is an amazing and underrated city for tourists. It has everything from a vibrant music scene (much better than edinburgh's all year round!), excellent bars and clubs for all budgets and ages, and great cultural things too. It's a very green city with beautiful parks such as the botanic gardens and Kelvingrove park. The studenty west end is very bohemian and full of trendy bars, and eateries as well as wee boutique shops. If you like art the art noveau scene there is amazing, Charles Rennie Macintosh being a major influence in the city, check out the school of art on renfrew street. Also the biggest shopping city outside London in the UK. The people are great banter and it isn't called 'the friendly city' for nothing.

I got home today, and it was great! Visited Staffa, and beside the Boat trip to staffa and back to Iona it was a great experience! *smile*
