It has already been possible on some international carriers, but now it's making its way into the US domestic market! Now all they need is internet enabled computers in the back of each seat.

Ohhhhhhh, a captive "audience"!! What a way to convert everyone to MACs, right Pete?! ;) (Just a thought...)

Being as "old school" as I am, I'm not sure if I view this a good thing or a bad thing. But, if by connecting to the internet, that obnoxiously loud person in front of me shuts up... I'm all for it. I'm actually surprised that it has taken this long to have access on flights.

Depending on your destination, Lufthansa's $30 flat rate would be well worth it (versus the $10/30 minutes). It will be interesting to see what United charges for the service. Maybe they will earn enough to improve the quality of their food. Maybe I'm just a dreamer...

I am loving the way this wifi thing is shaping up! Realize that if you have a laptop that is wifi enabled with skype, you can actually call for free from the skies then too!

On this note. I just checked on the Singapore airlines flight I'll be taking later this year. From the middle of march SIA has had onflight internet but it's only been on select london flights. I have my fingers crossed that by august it will include at least one of my flights!!!!!

Here's the Connexion by Boeing website which includes the airlines which currently have this. I wonder, is it only boeing that has this??? (boooo airbus in that case!)

ps. i just called them and they are not sure about whether the service will be on my flighs yet... fingers crossed
pps. notice that they are also rolling out live international tv!!!

If we're ever on the same flight Sam, remind me not to sit next to you while skyping... (I'll be the one just reading my book and being ignored by the flight attendants.)

Now there's an idea! We should petition Steve Jobs to make such a device ;)

Isadora works feverishly on the petition to Steve Jobs! Isa also includes a clause giving Isa and Pete 20% (each) of the profits from converting the world over to Macs
