Hello

Just wanted to ask, actually, tell that when i logged into chat, nearly all the writing was in either Chinese or Japanese. Isa, Reece and Hien were also logged on at the same time but none of them had the same problem. Hien suggessted a few things, however, none of them worked (way to go Hien! just kiddin)
If the problem persists what should i do? let me have a look if its the same..one moment

Weird !! What writing do you mean exactly? The labels, etc.. ?

There are options for setting them to different languages, but clearly, we have it set to English so it shouldn't be doing that!!

From the description arancia was giving us at the time, the symbols were next to the user name list on the right side of the window. Also, the drop-down menu for a username (private, ignore, profile) were in the foreign language. Hien had her check her language settings, exit and re-enter chat, exit Explorer all together and restart it, plus a few other little tricks he thought of - all to no avail.

Does that help Pete? I'm sure arancia will explain it better... But that was her description of the problem.

sorry that moment took almost a day!
Yup the writing and roll over menu was all in Chinese, the message that pops to tell you to slow down - that was in Chinese too.

Ok now im having problem loggin in at all! its recognising me as a guest and i can't get on chat. Ive tried typing in my username and then the login button but nada! :(
Is anyone else having this problem or is just me?

Ok, rebooted the chat server (see other thread on this ongoing problem) and also changed a setting that is more than likely the culprit.

From the chat help file..

If "*", it will automatically detect the language of every user's operating system and assign a corresponding language to user from the existing language collection.

Strangely, it must have thought that your operating system was in Chinese :-? Actually, more likely would be that Explorer thought the page was chinese (who knows why) and this is what confused the chat software. Anyway, I've hardcoded the setting to "en" now, so it should work fine. Let me know it goes crazy on you again :)
