amf has indicated that this thread is about Peru

Hi,
I am wondering whether any of you have had particular experiences with volunteer organizations in Peru. There are MANY programs out there, but I have not seen much feedback.
Also, let me know if you too are interested in pursuing something similar in March and April.

Thanks a lot!!

My daughter is working with Volunteer Bolivia in Cochabamba. Before she left for Bolivia, she did a lot of checking around to find out about this small program. We found friends of friends who knew one of the founders, emailed the embassy to find out if there were any complaints lodged against the organization, and asked for references. Maybe you should try the same if you can come up with a short list.

Another place to post a message to is on Lonelyplanet.com. They have a very active S.A. board and I would not be surprised if you could get specific recommendations.

And if you are interested in Bolivia at all, I would heartily recommend Volunteer Bolivia. Great folks, good work, very nice city.

Suzanne

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Contacting the embassy sounds like a good idea.
