Hi guys,

Going to South America for 3 weeks in October. We are thinking of: 1 week in Argentina, 1 week Inca trail & 1 week on beach in Rio? Is this too much in such a short time? Should we just pick 2 places? Any suggestions welcome!!

B.A. is on the complete opposite side of the continent as the Inca Trail, which is again on the complete opposite side of the continent as Rio. If you are flying between the locations, then it is doable, but you will need to plan 2 days of just travel to transit between B.A. and Cusco and between Cusco and Rio.

The only word of caution - flying from B.A. to Cusco is a big change in altitude, and altitude sickness might be a problem.

I agree with Greg, its way far away, but if you are flying then its ok. Make sure you take a couple of days before doing the inca trail in cusco, as Greg said again, when i was there one girl had to turn back due to the altitude and lost her money.
From BA, get a bus or fly, it costs 120$US, and see Iguazu falls, and then go on to rio from there, again either by bus or flying. It ios so worth it and i can promise that you will be just amazed, for me it was better than Macchu Picchu (i enjoyed the trek but was disappointed by the ruins, only as they were ruined by too many tourists, like myself!), i so so so reccommend it.

Have fun, Tarik
