any tips on staying healthy in india? i plan to avoid meat, and am having all kinds of jabs, but would really like to hear some words of wisdom from people who have been. i'm hopeless when i'm really sick and would desperately like to avoid anything too nasty. i can just about cope with the shits but wouldn't much fancy anything else!!
also, what kind of clothing would we need for when we visit himachal pradesh in june and july? if needed, is decent warm clothing available to buy out there? i don't wanna lug heavy fleeces and the like all through se asia and southern india beforehand.
thanks guys, joey
It is good that you are planning to visit India.June and JULY are rainy seasons
If you wish to be careful with food and not fall sick, stick to veg food. If atall you wish to consume nonveg food, suggest you to take seafood on the coastal places.Be away from beef. In non coastal places, don't go in for fish.
Avoid chillies and spicy items atleast in the beginning of your travel. Avoid eating food that is cold..Always eat food that is just prepared for you.
Avoid adding ice cubes in your fresh juice even during hot weather.Use packaged water even for juices and not allow the shop keeper to add restaurant's water.
Warm clothing are available in plenty in India. But since you will travel during rainy season be prepared for that.
wishing you a very pleasant journey.

I ate kingprawns in Goa (Vagator) and got very sick. You should also not eat fish, really don't!!!
