me and two friends are flying into Rome Ciampino (CIA) on the 18th of july to start our inter-rail but we are flying in at 11:30pm and the airport seems to be away from the centre of rome and we were wondering what is the best way to get to the centre there seems to be a train from the airport to the centre but there isnt very much info about it does anyone know how much it costs and if it runs at 11:30
You can get a bus from the airport to the outskirts of the city for €1.20 - this will drop you at Anagnina metro station. From here you can get a connecting bus into the city centre which takes about a half an hour.
Alternatively, you can take the train to the termini in the centre, but to get to the train from Ciampino you have to take a short bus ride. The train costs about €3.00.
A taxi to Rome would set you back about €40-50.
Hope that helps!
yer thanks but do u know if the train runs all night as we are getting quite a late flight
Sorry James, can't help you there I'm afraid. I would imagine that there would be transportation until quite late at night from the airport. Best bet would be to check out the airport information at Ciampiano airport in advance. I'm sure they'd be able to advise.
Stayed tuned. Someone else here might know.
ok thanks anyone know what time the train stops?
There is also a bus shuttle that can bring you to rome for 8 euro.
