I think Singapore is the most modern, cleanest, and the nicest to live in. However, as a tourist, there are other Asian cities that I find more interesting.

I guess in Asia I really prefer smaller towns, villages, and sites outside of the big cities. In Europe, some of the Big Cities are very interesting to visit.

Bukhara (Uzbekistan) was a great city to visit.

In India, I like the medium or smaller cities like Jaisalimer (in Rajasthan). Or even Jaipur, Jodhpur, Varanasi.

Kathmandu is one of my favorite Asian cities ti visit. Although it's not as charming as it was 25 years ago.

In Tibet, I liked Lhasa & Shagatse.

My favorite country to visit is Burma, but not in the big cities.

Luang Prabang in Loas is a very nice city.

In Burma, I like Pagan the best (although the city there is not really very big.

The visa was not difficult for me to get. I've been there 3 times. I think it's very difficult to go there by land. You would probably need to fly to yangoon. Once you are there it is very cheap. And of all the places I've ever visited I found the Burmese people to be the most "friendly!" The government is no good, but the country & people are Great.

Bhutan is very close to you also, but very expensive!
