Hmm, maybe it isn't entirely clear.. goes to show the importance of wording :)

If a question is sent to an individual travel helper, it will appear in the message center (and providing you have email notification turned on, you will be notified)

If a question is posted in the forum and the helpers are notified, then it will send an email notification to all of them. No messages are posted in their message center. Basically, it works the same as when you get replies in forum threads you have subscribed to.

ps. if I remember correctly, it should also be noted that only those travel helpers that have their email notification switched to ON will be notified for that country that you choose with a forum post.

That's somewhat logical of course, if you have your email notification off, you basically don't want to receive any emails altogether :)

I think those should be two separate settings, actually. The reason I'm not a travel helper is that I don't ever want to receive email for forum posts. I just always manually check the forums for which I can offer help.
Meanwhile I do want to receive email for the occasional private message that I get, since I wouldn't notice those otherwise. (Go popup blocker!) :)

That's a fair point, but I wonder if in terms of usability it wouldn't work more confusing than beneficial. In reality, the amount of forum posts that are started (that's the only time you get the email) and where a specific country is selected is not that high for most countries, outside of maybe a few like Australia and the US.
