hey All,

I would be in RMNP for one day while travelling in Colorado, in the first week of July. Any favorites spots/things to do?
Thanks!

Personally, I like the area around Bear Lake. It has some very nice hiking trails. The snow will definitely be gone and the views are spectacular. I also like either Alberta Falls or Cascade Falls - both are very nice and the hikes aren't too bad. Alberta is classified as an easy walk - it is.

Here are a couple of sites to help you decide:

If you are heading through Denver, then just 13 miles outside of town - in Morrison, CO - is Red Rocks Amphitheater. It's definitely worth a visit. It's been built up quite a bit since my last visit - but the natural red rock formations that create the theater are unique with almost perfect acoustics.

Have a great time!!! Oh, and don't feed the grizzlies marshmallows with your teeth!

Rocky Mountain National Park is a great place to visit and hike. However, if you have another day, you should go one hour west of Denver (along I-70) to Mt. Evans. It is pretty spectacular and has the highest paved road in the world (according to the official website of Mt. Evans).
