Hi,

I just returned from a beautiful night outside in the openair cinema and on the way home I saw my first shooting star of this year. Even had time to make a wish;)! Summer is just great and has any of your shooting star-wishes ever come true? Or else where have you watched the most amazing shooting stars ever? I once spent a whole night watching the sky, lying on a field close to the Grand Canyon and already after ten minutes I had lost count!!!

Steff (happily saying nite, nite to everybody)

I watched the most amazing shooting star show (also in Arizona) but the minute a spider crawled over me...the show was over! I hate spiders...Have a great night steff! oh yeah...I had two wishes come true:)

OMG I hate spiders too! Just thinking about them...shiver.... LOL, now I'm probably going to have a nightmare about spiders or something, lol.

On the shooting star issue....I've only seen two in my entire life. Both times I wasn't sure if they were shooting stars or not (until I asked people who I were with) but made wishes anyways. To this day, neither of them have come true. That won't stop me though! I will still wish-away! Both of the shooting-star experiences were "up north"...in the area of Quebec known as the Laurentians. It's about an hour north of Montreal and it's filled with beautiful forests and mountains.

Cheers,
Katie ;)

I've seen shooting stars while having our trip (with very close friends) to Pulau Tioman (island)years ago. Lying on the chair, starring at the starry night...

Then we began to sing the song "Vincent"...

"Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colours on the snowy linen land..."

We saw the shooting starts then and made our wish...

Do wishes come true? Can't tell coz it won't be true if i do so.

When I was younger my brother told me that shooting stars were aliens flying into our atmosphere, comming to get me.:(

He also told me that when you have a falling dream and wake up right before you hit the ground (you know that dream where right when you wake up it feels like you just fell into your bed, he told me that I was abducted by aliens and that they had just dropped me back into my bed.

Abducted by aliens? Sounds like Scully in 'X-Files'...well, we (chinese) especially the old one would warn the younger ones not to tell lie as the 'broom-star' (direct translation from chinese words) would appear and take us away from our family and we would even get cursed unexpectedly!

As long as the shooting stars do exist, my grandma wouldn't mind repeating her 'legendary' warning on those 'shooting stars' (brrom-stars instead)

I would take her advice and maybe those 'broom-stars' would be her appreance or her blessings on me if one day grandma isn't here...;)

Love you, grannie!
