Just how long has it been since you were in Sydney Wocca?

Sweet memories ... Aren't they all?

If I remember correctly, it was after the Opera House was opened, or was it a few years before when Eric Simms was fullback for Manly-Warringah in the grand final against Changa Langlands from St George?

Darling Harbour was named as such in 1826, under went a major development about 20 years ago and is now one of Sydney's premier entertainment districts.

Anyway, that's my suggestion. Wocca, if you prefer Oxford Street that's okay by me. Just don't expect me to be wearing any leather pants or army outfits

Right ... So you're talking about Governor Darling. It's up to you what you want to wear, James. I'd imagine we'd probably be sitting down anyway.

My parents lived in Pyrmont & Glebe long ago, but that was during the Cold War.I believe that Leichardht has got a new local name these days as well ?

Is there still a Balmain football club. And is Nifty Nev still around? How many true believers are left?

Wocca, the Opera House has long gone. Due to decreasing patronage of both tourists and locals, the government stopped funding the maintenance of the building and so they dismanteld it, piece by piece. Every Sydneysider was allowed to go into a draw to win a piece of the house. The lottery was called "On The House" and many people won a piece. If you want a piece you might be able to find one on eBay. I believe they get auctioned now and then.

Anyway, there's a flagship Woolworths supermarket on the site now. It's run by the Warrane tribe of aboriginals, the original inhabitants of the area. They share in the store's profits.

Balmain merged with Newtown in about 1989. They are now known as the "Tiger Jets" and are currently on the third rung of the premiership table I believe.

I've confirmed a QANTAS flight Perth - Sydney on the evening of Tuesday 26th July.My plan is to stay a few days in Sydney, then catch a train up to the Gold Coast. I will later fly out of Brisbane to Hong Kong.

Darling Harbour sounds good, James. We could do lunch, if you like.
