heading off to italy in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone had been camping in or around the amalfi coast?
Flying to rome for a few days, then to Naples and Pompei. After that we aren't sure what we are going to do but we quite fancy camping around the area as we enjoyed camping so much at Lake Garda.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
When I visited that area of Italy we stayed in Rome and did excursions to Naples, Pompeii and the area around Rome, so I don't really know the Amalfi Coast but can give you advice on Naples, Rome and Pompeii. Try to go to the Isle of Capri as it is supposed to be really beautiful. There is a really good website: www.italyheaven.co.uk
which gives loads of information about all parts of italy. Have a great trip whatever you do!
I know of one campsite on the Amalfi coast where you could stay, although I havent stayed there myself so I cannot recommend it.
Its in the town of Agerola 16km north of Amalfi itself. The campsite adjoins the local youth hostel known as Beata Solitudo. Roughly €10 a night. A regular bus connects to Amalfi.
Might be worth checking out.
sorry it has taken me so long to get back here. Thanks for all the advice.
I have booked a nice little site in sorrento for a few nights which looks really great.
My next stage is booking a helicopter ride over Vesuvius but im struggling to find anywhere online that I can book it.
Anyone know of any sites?
thanks again for all yor help
