Thanks Tingo!

Giambasi, Travellerspoint has travel bookings... hostels, b&b's, campings, apartments, budget hotels, hotels, last minute hotels, eurail passes, travel insurance, RTW flights and tours to be exact

The difference is we don't plaster banners and links all over the site simply trying to redirect people to making a quick sale. Plus we only started with all those programs (which are all run by specialized partner organisations) after we had had the website up and running for about half a year to cover some costs in hosting - so I guess you are right if you are saying we don't focus on travel bookings... Just thought I would mention that.

My favorite travel sites are all not booking oriented by the way and are sites like lonelyplanet.com, trekearth.com (amazing photos here)....

Sam
ps. and of course Travellerspoint

I'm not really into sites that start with a booking engine, either. My favourites are (besides the obvious ) : art of travel, digihitch (great community of hitchhikers!), sleeping in airports (amusing and practical), lonely planet, to name a few . . .

If you're looking for a good booking site, I know a lot of people who swear by travelocity.

As well as travellerspoint, the Thorntree and Virtualtourist are two which tend to be very good, along with any number of more assorted & bizare places rather than neccessarily helpful ones. I'm not a fan of booking sites are only very rarely use them. But I also know a good number of people who think very highly of Travelocity

Hey Steph,

Did you chance on us via sleepinginairports by the way? We are one of Donna's sponsors as both Pete and me like that site and it attracts a lot of the same type of travellers that hang out here!

Donna made us sponsor of the month last month.... check it out here;

And no, that pic isn't of me!!! All that fanmail in Jan had me snowed in

That's hilarious! Congratz on being a site of the month!

I'm not sure if I got the site from Travellerspoint, but I think I might have considering I've gotton a few to add to my collection from here :)
