I am thinking about doing something drastic! but 1st off this is why....

i'm 25 & single, with no kids, so i have no attachments

i am thinking of maybe joining the peace corp or taking a government job in Quwait, i want to do something crazy like this before someday i might have "attachments" (ie GF or kid or something)

Never had this intention in me since the beginning...may I know what is the courage behind your dream that drives you towards it?

1. i like adventuring into new countries i've never seen or been to before, i like to party, and i WANT to be able to work too.

2. this would be good for future resumes.

3. i'd LOVE to learn spanish or some other language, even if it's just a little bit

4. i have no kids, no GF, no wife, and my job is online (so i can work from anywhere there is internet)

so i ask myself, "why the hell wouldnt i do something like this?"

John F Kennedy started the Peace Corps in the early 1960's. You have to be American to join, cikusang

bump for anyone that missed it

but also bad news, i heard from a Peach Corp recruiter that most PC volunteers have Bachelors degree, he said 86% of them do, so it's almost required i'd think :(

Well, just be a part of the other 14%. If you want to do it, you'll find a way.

No, Lee, you do not need to be a US citizen to join the Peace Corps. The US Peace Corps now, and has for some time, actively seeks people from the nations in which they are deployed. That is part of the whole Peace Corps philosophy - employ those you wish to help.

As an example - the US Peace Corps program in Moldova is soliciting for Moldovians. Requirement: Moldovian citizenship. Since the Peace Corps is a volunteer organization, if your skills fall within the requirements a particular project(s), you can become a part of the Peace Corps. It is not strictly for US citizenry any longer.

Sorry, can't help you there Zachery! I applied for the Peace Corps many years ago, but things had changed in my life by the time I recieved my acceptance. Go for it!!! I think you will have a wonderful time.
