Hey all~
Just joined TP and looking forward to spending quite a bit of time here. I had posted in the general forum about my postcard project for my class. Fiona was kind enough to reply, point me this way and even post a link to my original post! I've never heard of a postcard circle like this...but very, very cool!

Hi. My name is Jason and I teach 6th grade (11-12 year olds) in Perris, California. I was bitten by the travel bug years ago and my wanderlust has brought me places I never fathomed Id visit. I'm trying something new this year to increase my students' view of the world as well as their geography skills. I am asking friends, acquaintances and ,yes, even strangers to send my class a postcard from your part of the world.
Please include your: Name, location, type of work and brief explanation of the postcard picture. Please send an appropriate card. Your help in this will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Send to:
Mr. Risley's Class
c/o "A" Street Elementary
755 North "A" St.
Perris, CA 92570
USA
Again, thank you if you've taken the time to do this. We've recieved quite a few postcards. My kids have made a goal(set by themselves) that they want to recieve cards from as many different countries as possible. They're shooting for 100 different countries! Put a smile on a kids face and send a postcard!
Thanx,
Jason

Thank you, Ev! What a fantastic postcard - I know about half of those Irish writers, so I'd better get to work on finding something by the rest. Althoguh no one can make me read Ulysses! I simply won't do it! ;)

Oh, you're welcome T! I thought you might like that one ;)

At least you got it on time. The postal service is in upheaval here in Munster where I live and everything seems to be delayed.

When I'm back in Norway I'll try and remember to send you one from there Jason!

Just a thought, but which countries haven't you received any from? Not to limit the senders, but I'm sure we can help you complete your collection.

Asia is easy. Just sent an e-mail to my uncle in China to send you one. Hopefully he'll respond. He's a teacher as well so he probably will. It might be in Chinese though.

Thanks for the relpies and kind thoughts folks! And thank you Isadora and Hien for letting my addy stay on my post so my kids could reap the rewards:)
So far, we've recieved from France, UK, Oz, Canada, Jamaica, US, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Tahiti! The kids love getting the cards, seeing the picture, finding out about the person who wrote it! I've been having them get online so they can see each city and it's uniqueness.
Thanks for all your help and support, folks!
Jason
