Have you seen that movie with Wiona Rider in Reality Bites, the part where she rings up a bill talking to a psychic.

Well my friend went to a psychic and she was moved by what this psychic had to say. He revealed things about her past. Which seems to me very general and somewhat normal... Her future desires as in occupation and relationships. Anyway, her description gave me a nightmare. And it made me want to go see one. Then it faded. It costs about 60 US.

I dont believe in psyhic's or furtune tellers, but is there some truth to it. Has anyone been to one where it changed their lives? i know the FBI has profilers, their job is to use clues to describe what the person might do next or has done.. etc.

Maybe there are people out there more sensitive to i dont know what.. who are able to read people.

Well, just wanted to see what ya'all have experienced.

To me, it's all rubbish.

I have to agree with James...I try to keep an open mind...Aliens? Who knows?...it would be rather egotistical of us to think we are the only life forms in the entire universe. Ghosts? Who knows?...I would like to believe there is something after this life. But people who make a living out of vague generalizations (and clues that the person gives without realizing)? I find that hard to swallow. Are some people more perceptive of others feelings, yes, I think so..but can they tell me what is going to happen next year with certainty?

I went to a psychic once. It was about two years ago now. He was way off on my reading, both at the time and in his predictions. (*hello, woman of my dreams whose name starts with S or C and who owns her own business, where are you? We were supposed to meet, like, a year and a half ago!*). It was pretty funny when he said, "you'll be doing some travel, not far, within Canada, but still away from home." At the time I was working almost exclusively in the U.S. and was travelling ALL the time. Oops.

Anyway, I do know some people who have been to psychics and they claimed the psychic got tons right. But, can't say that was the case for my experience.

I am new to this forum as of today so I've been reading posts to get a idea of what's going on. I saw your msg about psychics. There are so many who are fakes--one way to tell is if they want more money from you as in getting rid of a curse. Beware of the ones who dress like gypsies. I am a reluctant pshchic--never planned it--it comes naturally. Some peopleI can read very well and some not well at all--there are people more open to be read. Some of the things I've received when reading for others have floored me--there is no way I could know some of the things I come out with. Maybe one day I'll write a book--I am a writer--I'll call it, "The Reluctant Psychic". Now there's a thought!

Another thing--if you use a psychic--be sure they let you tape it or take notes. If they don't allow it--don't use them. One other thing you might try--if you call them first--ask if they can pick up anything about you before you set an appointment!

Depending on where you are--cost can be from $20 to over $200. I used to do it for $40.00 for an hour or how ever long it would take.

Good luck--and remember to thank your aunt for something she recently did for you.

Mary

i am sceptic about most fortune tellers but not all. One of my friends brought me to one for a birthday a few years ago.
I was sceptic so I asked could I tape it, (i was also thinking i could play this to my friends and give them a laugh). He started by telling me that my mother was standing over my right shoulder with her head tilted to the right playing with her hair (i started to feek a bit strange at this stage), he never spoke directly to me but instead always over my shoulder ( i know you're thinking that i'm a fool but...) He was able to tell me how my mother died, what year and when, that my sister was going to be pregnant within the year, he was able to tell me about a best forgotton experience in my own past that only three people knew, so he knew a lot about my past that really freaked me out, about teh future stuff, well if it was general i would have laughed, you can turn any situation into something general to make it seem true, but he told me three things that i had no control over and were far from general, two have already happened...
