Hi all,

Going RTW nxt yr, mainly stopping/working in OZ

Is it worth trying to squeeze Tokyo in on the way (were already going to Thailand and Singapore) we are travelling on a budget and it does seem expensive for just one stop

the other option is doing it on a seperate trip along with Hong Kong, Beijing etc... (do the Far East as one seperate trip)

any help will be apprieciated

Not sure about when you do it, that's kind of up to you, but I'd certainly recommend visiting Tokyo (and some other areas of Japan while you're here). I'm in Kyoto at the moment and loving it. Just visiting Tokyo wouldn't really do Japan any justice, though it is a very cool city :)

Hey! I just got home from Japan a few weeks ago. I went all over the place. I would agree and say (wholeheartedly) that Kyoto is amazing and worth a week of visiting at least! Tokyo I found to be very disappointing. I found it to be like NYC, just dirtier. Sorry to be so harsh, but I didn't like the city at all. Any visitor to Japan who only goes to Tokyo is really missing out.
