Why not introduce a feature where administrators can close or lock a thread?

If the issue is a bit contentious, keep it locked for a week or so. Open it only on request.

I'll take your word for it.

Usually with a locked / closed thread, there is a little padlock icon denoting its status OR a pop-up message appears if someone tries to contribute to the post.

You've totally confused me, CupCake. I was firstly going to congratulate you on your research ability, and the speed with which you posted a link.

I followed that link, and scanned the first page. Perhaps I missed something, butI don't see the relevance. There appears to be some contention in the thread, but that's all water well under the bridge now.

Sorry but perhaps I missed something. There did not seem to be any specific mention about closing/locking features. A direct quote would be much more useful and appreciated.

Cheers

So you didn't read the words "this thread is closed" in the top left hand corner then

Cheers Fiona.

I'll look more closely, and it could pay if I get stronger reading glasses as well.

Good luck to the
All Blacks Rugby Team
