5 metropolitan cities are fighting for the coming Olympic. 6th July 2005 in Singapore will determine the fate.

Which city do you think will become the host of Olympic 2012 and why?

Don't know why, but I'd say Paris gets it. I also think their logo is nice.
What's your opinion, Lee?

Paris & London are front-runners, though New York's list of celebs backing the bid reads like a who's who of the (sporting) world. They even managed to get Muhammad Ali, that's a huge boost. Madrid's chances have been damaged by that bomb blast, while Moscow is a rank outsider.

I am going to say NY...but only because you all picked Paris ;) and I really don't have any idea HOW they determine such a thing..one thing is for sure..which ever city gets it will be a pain to travel to prior too..(for all the work they will be doing in the 2 years before) and forget about travelling there DURING! :)

Paris seems the most likely choice.

I understand your plea, MassageUK. After working in Atlanta and hearing the horror stories of what it was like to try and live a normal life in the city for those 3 weeks, I always pray that Toronto doesn't get the Olympics. So far, they've avoided it!

Montreal hosted the Olympics in 1976 - and we're STILL paying the bills for than one. Plus our stadium is falling to bits. I wonder how much a host city actually benefits in the end.

I was in Atlanta for the entire Olympics from the opening ceremonies through the closing ceremonies. It was a great experience!

For 2012, I think paris will get it.

For 2008, I think China should lose it until they get out of Tibet!!!

I must say this vote would go to Paris as this city is catching almost all the worls's spotlights many years ago; Filming industry started in France; fashion designers (apart from Milan and Rome) and their aesthetics are another 'strong point' to win; Paris is also known as the city of art all this while;

And the most of all, even Lady Liberty is from ......???? Tower brought into USA from.....? Eiffel Tower and many landmarks are 'commercially' the strecthing point of victory;

And I have a friend who is specialized in landscape and city planning agree the fact that Paris combines well the 'old' and the 'new' elements (I would prefer Beijing's goverment would learn something valuable from Paris regarding on city-planning) that it has been the most favourite artists, authors and idea-seeker to look into; NY CITY is too moderned; London doesn't do well in its city-planning compared to Paris; Madrid is weak in certain city- management and traffic system and Moscow is socially 'ruined' which is the killing part.

That's my own opinion, nevertheless, Paris is undeniably the strongest! Anyone of you who disagree with Paris can 'do some specific research' on each city through resources from libraries, internet, colleges and universities' research papers. One of my brother's friend who is partly involved in Dubai's city-planning and landscaping would strongly recommend any newbies in consrtruction industry please study Paris first : its history, its culture, their idealogy and the specialty...

Therefore, 1 vote goes for Paris, (luckily Beijing doesn't fight with Paris for 2012's)
