Hi, i have just returned from a trip around Italy and Croatia and though id share some info about train and ferry prices as i know these are things that people are always interested in knowing in advance. All tickets were standard second class, and many were on the directo trains which were regional ones rather than Eurostar or intercity. Prices are all in Euros unless otherwise stated. Hope people find them of use.

Nicola

Pisa - Florence - 5

Florence - Ancona - 29

Ancona - Split - 4 hour ferry during the day - 58

Split - Dubrovnik (bus) - 89 Kuna (10Kuna to £1)

Dubrovnik - Bari - overnight Jadrolinjia ferry, no cabin - 274 Kuna

Hi Nickla,

Thanks for posting that Info.. I'd like to visit the Croatian coast & Dunbrovnic, so this will help planning.

Did you like Dunbrovnic or Split better? Any other definite places not to be missed in Croatia?

Wasnt a whole lot in it between Split and Dubrovnik. Split is the bigger place and there are more sights to see, but i found dubrovnik prettier and there are more options for going on boat trips out to the islands there which id really recommend. You wll not find clearer sea water anywhere in the world, im almost certain. The Istrian coast is another nice place, went to Pula last year and it was again very pretty and quaint, though again not a wholoe lot to do, but it did have a very relaxed atmosphere.

Pretty much anywhere u go on the Croatan coast will be beautiful, it all depends on what exactly ure looking for.

Thanks nickla,

Dubrovnic with its walled city on the coast looks so exotic. Nice to see that I can go to Croatia by ferry. It always seemed so far out of the way to go by land.

Thanks, Nickla.

It's a good info for me to store in my PC. Yet to set of there but later...
