nikki m has indicated that this thread is about Cyprus

hi
i'm travelling to cyprus in the summer as i've heard its great from mates and i'm would like
to know if anyone has stayed at any of the tsokkos hotels, i went on their website and they
look good and are reasonably priced but would like feedback from people that have stayed
there or at another hotel. I checked the -snip- and it had load of info but i would like
feedback from anyone who has been or like me is planning to go

thanks in advance
nikki

HI Nikki,

Not sure why as a Cypriot you are relying on mates information to find out it is a good place .. my understanding is the Tsokkos hotels' marketing is pretty deceptive actually - lots of forum promotions posing as different people :)

Peter

btw.. I've removed the duplicate post in the General Talk forum.

hi peter

for your information i'm a 17 year uk citizen i live in romford essex and i have done all my life, i wasn't paying attention to what it wrote there i thought it had something to do with what forum we were interested in going in so thats why i put in cyprus, not everyone is obsessed with the internet that they pay such attention to detail. The only reason i've heard of the hotel is because some friends went there last summer and said it was good but for all i know they were talking sh!t, ok mate

lots of love xxx

No worries Nikki,

I left your post to give you the benefit of the doubt.. the only problem is that 3 minutes before you posted your thread yesterday, someone else posted a rather obvious spam thread promoting their website (the one I snipped out of your post) about those hotels - the coincidence is too much for me. Whatever the case, be wary of responses regarding this matter, because there has been a lot of very questionable information regarding cyprus in the last few days.

To help plan your visit, you may want to consider asking the travel helper for Cyprus for some advice.

Cheers,
Peter

peter

of course i'm going to ask my travel helper for advise but i just wanted some info from other travellers who have been to give me advise on the best hotels in the napa area, the only reason i mentioned that hotel is cause some mates stayed there, and i wanted info from others if it was really good but to be honest i can't be bothered with this forum anymore, ive been in at least another 8 forums and none of them had a problem in them, so there is really no point in me using this forum anymore. Hope you treat the other members better rather than insulting their intelligence too.

Anywayz :(

Hi Nikki,

Truly I didn't mean to insult your intelligence. This forum is genuinely filled with people who are willing to help with travel plans, without any personal interest, and we are extremely grateful for all our members' presence on this site.

You must understand though, that in order for us to keep this place fair and open we have to monitor posts. In itself, some of your threads may have been ok - unfortunately it was started minutes after another member (who joined at virtually the same time as you) posted some fairly obvious spam regarding tsokkos and the very same websites you mentioned. To see what could happen to a forum if such posts are permitted, you may want to find some answers to your questions at the oculartravel forum (posted by the very same user who has been trying to answer your questions):
http://www.oculartravel.com/forum/active.asp

Your question still stands in this thread though - just somewhat edited as a warning to the spammer who has been answering such questions. Hopefully someone will provide some good feedback for you, as has been quite common on these forums. I truly wish you the best in planning your trip. If you would like to discuss this further feel free to send me a message.

Cheers,
Peter

Sorry to rub in the point, but I think it is only fair to our members to know what other forums 'nikki m' has been posting on. Our friends over at aardvarktravel forums have also had to deal with this very issue:

I let this thread live, just to stop the posts popping up - hopefully it has served its purpose by now.

Hello Peter

Aaron from Aardvark Travel.

Just noticed this link in our referrers. 'nikki m' made quite a nuisance of herself over at our forums.

I hope you guys are keeping busy and well... all the best,

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Good to see you on the Travellerspoint forum It was kind of fun dealing with this particular spammer - it was just so obvious!! :) Didn't take much to track down her activity on a few other sites either.

Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter

We get a few inventive spammers on a semi-regular basis. Here's just one classic example:
http://www.aardvarktravel.net/chat/viewtopic.php?t=4877

Don't they realise that this sort of thing is invariably relatively easy to detect? In this particular instance, it was the same IP "all three" posters.

Ah well... their loss, I like to think, because they won't be visiting again! :)
