Hi everyone , i've just signed up to this website cause i've been thinking a lot lately about either a, taking a sabbatical for about a year and going travelling around Central / South America maybe doing some volunteer work or b, same as a unless my company won't give me time off in which cause i'll just quit .
I have no idea where i want to go yet and today is my first day looking into this so any advise will be much appreciated, hopefully when i finally decide to make a move i expect to travel for about 6 months to a year at least, also if anyone can give me tips on expenses and what to expect it would be great ( the cheaper the better )
So all in all Hi all
Hi alifad and welcome!!!
Hope for your company they give you the year off I'd still love to see more of Central and South America. So far, I can only say I've been to Costa Rica, which was fantastic though!!! The accommodation in CR I found to be quite cheap and I heard that a lot of countries around there even have cheaper accom At least in CR there were plenty of hostels with dorm rooms to stay as well.
Keep us posted on your plans!
Welcome to Travellerspoint!
You've come to the right place if your looking for travel help/info!
hey and welcome to TP,
It feels so good to see lebanese people, the explorers through times, keeping up their noble tradition. A former "Hazmieh" resident, lived in France and now in sweden since ages. My next trip is to India, bangladesh and Sri Lanka in October. The thing about me is that I don´t need any permission from my company I just ask myself and I usually say yes! Hope that you will go on with your plans and widen your horizons. Nowadays people say the world is small but beleive it´s very big and it´s waiting for you to discover it.
Good luck and have fun
HI Alifad, welcome to TP!
I used to meet Lebanese deligations to our country and I found your people are 'extremely' friendly and modest! I kept a few articles about Lebanon - one of the country which faces a lot of war and battles many years ago; lebanese food is very healthy as most of their food are vegetables and low-fats and cholestrol...and one more thing is: Lebanese is believed to be the last generation of The Great Phoenician, according to National Geographic's report!!!
Cheers, really hope to see you around here often to tell us about your country (spring in Lebanon is very beautiful according to media),
Welcome to TP! Sounds like you have everything planned so far. Good luck with your travels and hopefully you will get that sabbatical (unless you really want to quit - then good luck with that version)
Welcome again and hope you enjoy TP as much as we do!
Thanks all so much , Hey Voyages , i've always had the travel bug, grew up between London and Nigeria and and travelled quite a lot when i was younger, since moving back to Beirut i've been sitting behind a desk most of the time and i miss the open spaces of Africa and i'm getting restless so decided it's time to see new parts of the world .
and I know it's only a small world in the cities , once you're sleeping under the stars with no road for miles in any direction you see things as the really are and i'm really excited about this
Welcome to TP alifad
This is the place for all the information you will ever want about the rest of the world.....especially those "wide open spaces". Cities are pretty much the same wherever you go, but out in the countryside....it's always different.
Good luck on your search.
