I am still looking at destinations for my first travel experience.Has anyone had much experience in South America.I would love to fly in to the North of the South which would be Caracas in Venezuela then work my way down through Colombia,Brasil, Argentina,Chile etc.I would just like to know how easy it is to travel around South America. Also how expensive it is when you are there.I would look to do some work and stay in hostels etc.
Any help much appreciated
How's your Spanish?
The better your Spanish language skills the easier a time you'll have.
Land transport is easy-cheap but not always comfortable.
Food also is cheap and tasty-accommodation easy to find.
Hostels as such are something of a novelty although somewhat less so now than previously.
$50US/day is plenty.
Forget working-it ain't gonna happen.
Cheers Sam.Looks like I better dust off my old Spanish books.$50 us dollars a day aint to bad. What about safety out there?Obviously you have your good and bad places but is South America somewhere you would recommend to travel round?
I would. I didn't ever feel really unsafe in South America. I've felt more threatened in Central America, and frankly in big-city USA.
