I just got a trial shift on thurs for this really cool bar Im so excited and I NEEED THIS JOB!!! especially if I'm going to get away in august!

any advice (seriously folks!) on what I should or shouldn't do on thursday.

I've already established I'm going to be myself and as bubbly and fun as mim gets (watch out the red cow!!)

Ask lots of questions and don't pretend you know something you don't. Don't rely on "I'll learn it later" or "someone else will do that".

Yup, don\t do...

I've already established I'm going to be myself and as bubbly and fun as mim gets

that!

Good luck! Agree to ask lots of questions, but also THINK before doing stuff which may be silly, or you may end up like the girl in my infamous 'pint of beer and a bitter lemon' story

  • Don't get pissed
  • Don't chat up the governor, especially if the Mrs

is around

  • Don't be late
  • Don't get lumbered with the local idiot
  • Don't wear too short a skirt or too tight pants (lots of bending down..)

DO..

  • Take note of your surroundings, like where stuff is - loos, rubbish bins, glasses, wine, bottled beer & spirits
  • Befriend the locals
  • Look busy even if it's quiet, cleaning something always impresses
  • Pick up empty glasses off the tables
  • Empty the ashtrays

blah blah blah - Good Luck, you'll be fine Mim

yeah I've done bar work before so I know the basics,l its just this "one chance to impress" malarkey thats made me nervous,

and Gelli what on earth do you mean???

that!

??

I wasn't planning on being silly, just outgoing it's like a young bar so...

and whats the story I bet your dying to tell it?! ;)

Mim, you're profile says, "Try to do one thing that scares you (even just a little) every day"

You are now doing that one thing.

Enjoy it, you'll be fine

yeah it's not one of my normal "things" that might scare me
but I guess it'll prove something to me if I get the job, seing as my self esteem is on the low side at the moment!
