so we just graduated high school and are looking for a primo destination under the given circumstances: can't drive out of the country, are on a budget, wanna' meet up with other younger folks, want to spend quality time in beautiful surroundings, are vegetarian.
so far we're considering going on a bus tour through south Ireland, going to Victoria Island, or to Iceland. Any suggestions, ideas, opinions would be much appreciated...

I'm not sure what you mean by

can't drive out of the country

?? especially since you mentioned Ireland and Iceland?

If you're veggie and you want beautiful surroundings what about India like Rajasthan?

:)

I think what Marissa means with can't drive out of the country, is that she resides in the US and her choices are Canada, US or Mexico. But, I'v ebeen known to be wrong before...

Yeah that driving thing confuses me. I don't know about Victoria Island, but Vancouver Island is great! Beutifal surroundings, great vegetarian and organic food and right close to the United States.. not sure if that's a plus or not, just throwing it out there..

sorry 'bout the confusion. i mean that we're not allowed to drive anywhere out of the u.s. so a means of transportation is a big issue

You dont need to drive to do a lot of travelling, especially in Europe. Get a rail pass and you can see a lot of europe. Its what i did after i graduated and what a lot of recent grads from all over the world do. You will meet a ton of people and have a blast. We started in Barcelona and worked our way around the the medditerenean to Italy and then to a boat to greece. There are a lot of beautifull towns, cities and beaches along the way!

I was in the same boat as you. Well kinda still am. I just graduated high school, and I've decieded on Australia for a yearish on a working visa. I came to my decision because i know they have alot of young people traveling the same places I will be. The country is beautiful and unique. The weathers nice, and they speak english. That made my mind up for me. Hope that helps.
