There are frauds also. While I was taking lunch in the beach, a man took my photograph. Later, he gae me that photo & demanded 50 bth for that!

I think he means "scammers" or "con-men types."

Patayya doesn't sould like such a nice place. I've never been there but was going to check it out on my next trip to Thailand, now I'm not so sure.

selling photos in pattaya is popular - there are at least 10 street photographers on the Walking Street every evening. One of them has a minature monkey to make picture with.

Pattaya is certainly not for everybody, but it does have some good points. The main beaches, Pattaya & Jomtien are bad, but a short boat ride across the bay and you can enjoy Koh Larn. Clean sand and clear water. Pattaya has a tremendous amount of live entertainment for reasonable prices and more restaurants than you can possibly visit. Many ex-pats live there because of the many golf courses close by, the nightlife and low cost of living. Many love it and some do not, all about personal choices. It is worth a look.
