Iknow what you´re experiencing. everybody around you plans on getting mariied or already is married and driving round with his BMW and is proud of wife (If she´s a killer!)etc, the rest you know. Don´t get impressed by anybody around you, you should only get impressed by yourself and what you acheive in your life.
Strong words, Pierre!
Ali, I come here everyday (recently) to read your thread and give you support! Eventhough I am not with you now, I can feel your excitement to taste and understand our world better! I am proud of you, friend!
I'am 59 YOUNG this year and I am now planning??????? a 4 month trip by myself JAN 2006.
I meet lots of youngsters,20-30,from all over the world on their travels, not intentionly but you cannot help it as we are all ON THE ROAD, and life is one big laugh.
"Anyone" can do it and you learn from your mistakes and the greatest mistake in life is saying "I WISH" as when the knees are gone, the back is weak, your frail and old, "the house is paid for,the bankbook is full,"what use is it when all your good for is moaning and saying "I WISH".
"You cant take it with you" so book up for the British winter, forget your troubles and hit de road Mon somewhere warm.
al de bes Mon
hey!! i agree with what most people are saying... do it NOW!!
my mother took a year off from teaching in canada, and she's 44. she flew to europe and decided to be an ESL teacher in Madrid, Spain... she rented out the house, and put all of her possesions into a storage unit, and she couldn't be more glad that she did it... i recommend doing it before you reach the age of 44, just because it's easier to not be tied up with life...
my mom isn't married either... so it makes everything a little easier...
anywho, best of luck with your travels and may your heart be content to lead you where it wants to go!!
Hey Ali...I am 30,single with 2 young children and I still travel when I can. It's not always easy, but travelling and experiencing other cultures is really important to me and I think good for my children.
I am learning to speak italian, which I have to work hard at...but in the long run it will be an achievement and a useful acomplishment.
It's never too late to travel or move to another country to live.If it's what you really want you will do it!!! All the best in the future for your travels
Start your adventure while you are single Ali. Life will never be the same when you get married, have kids, mortgages and other insurances to sweat your *** working for it. The thing is you are not wasting your time here, but rather educating yourself in ways you can't learn from anything except by doing that. Travelling helps you grow up in ways you alone can fathom
I love this quote cos in many times it has helped me to make a decision. Hope it can help you:
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do that by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in you sail. EXPLORE. DREAM. DISCOVER" By Mark Twain
