Do you not think it's more likely connected to G8 and the olympics are just an unfortunate coincidence???
Anyway it won't affect anything to do with 2012 as its 7 years away nay?

m

yes, it obviously is - still happy for London hosting 2012? I am not.

yes, it would affect grossly all preparations - I wish Olympic will be handed to Paris now

That was the first thing that popped into my mind...what the hell is wrong with people?????

I second that last thought. How can people set out to kill fellow human beings just to make a point? I know it's a terribly naive question, but it's inomprehensible. I don't get it. It isn't fair.

The blasts have already been 'claimed' by a terrorist organization, and Blair basically confirmed this earlier today too. Same with the reason, he announced it was most likely because of the G8.... I don't think it would have mattered if London had or hadn't gotten the Olympics. Something like this takes some planning and it would have happened even if Paris got it.

Condoleances to all affected!

there is a probability there was a 'contingency' plan for Paris - unfortunately London got hit.

I am afraid we might expect here more of this same

I'm very sorry that this happened. It's a totally barbaric thing. My condolences to the victims and their families. :(

Seems the target of these terrorists was the G8 summit instead of London getting the Olympics. The summit is somewhat disrupted since Blair has had to leave.

France, Italy, Germany etc have all stepped up security now.

Thats ridiculous in my opinion , these people aren't discriminate. if the Olympics was the issue and Paris had got it they would have been bombed too
Security would have been an issue wherever they were held (olympics) and no I don't believe it will affect the preparations as you put it "grossly" I think it may have some bearing on it but this is a fantastic opportunity for England and these attacks shouldn't be allowed to mar our accomplishment in winning the bid.

yes, it is - bombs planted by an organisation associated to Al Queda (set up back in 1980's by the CIA to fight Russian in Afghanistan) admitted to it on some arabic website.

how else would you call bombs targeting civilians and not military or police services?

Richard, I dont think is that simple anyway - there's always an issue or even more than what we can't imagine behind the stories - don't simply trust on what we see and hear from media (even 'land of freedom' USA's voice of freedom in the world of journalism is facing decline; the peak of president 'NIXON' issue is a history now).

What can we do is to wait and see! There's always many changing plots and facts of any current issue nowadays!

The point is, as many other TP members had voiced: why are there so many innocent people to get sacrifice in every tragedy? Why? There's always a common reply after each tragedy - "Hope they will rest in peace." BUT will they? and will we?

Still, many people has not awared of the impact after WORLD WAR 1 and 2...money money money...power power power...contradiction dilemma paradox...

I do not mean to make things so despair...life goes on.

Rest in peace? Haha...

All of our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in London affected by this morning's tragedy. Stay strong.

I don't think it had anything to do with the Olympics. If they were also set up to attack in Paris today, then they would have. They enjoy killing innocent people and would kill as many as possible, whenever possible. If they could have killed 100,000 people in London today, they would have. These sickos have enough hatred of the UK and the "West," where they don't need the excuse of the Olympics. Too bad there's not an easy way to wipe them all from the face of the Earth!

I'm very sad for all the people in London, the UK, and actually the whole World, because it's all so sad.
