Seems the target of these terrorists was the G8 summit instead of London getting the Olympics. The summit is somewhat disrupted since Blair has had to leave.

G8 summit started yestarday - if they really wanted to disrupt it they would simply blow bombs yestarday morning and none of the 7 world rulers would dare to come

And it's even less to do with London winning 2012 because the victory was unexpected and an upset. Paris was favourite to win.

Again, of course, we can speculate what the real reason was (maybe it's the Blair/Bush alliance over the Iraq war, maybe it's something else). I mentioned the G8 because its roots are political, London 2012 is sporting. But what Jeff said is right, these people don't really need a reason for attack, they just do.

I found out about the London Blasts this morning. It is terrible what people do to get attention or send a message.

I have been reading through the last four pages of comments and discussion on the the London attacks. What I am noticing is the many discriptions of the so-called Terrorists™: "sicko's", "evil", and so on. Certainly the attacks are horrible and should not be condoned by anyone. Though what I don't like to see is an emotional response pitting one side against the other. Good vs. Evil. West vs. East. These types of things hold no ground.

Quite frankly more than 20 "innocent civilians" have been murdered in Iraq with not even a blip on the media radar. The day that the world cares as much about the death of a family in Iraq as the death of a family in London seems further off than ever before.

Instead of border's coming down and the world becoming more homogeneous, we are drawing the lines, choosing sides and preparing to fight.

Yes, what happened in London was a horrible thing. Should we not be working toward a solution between all sides? Instead of building walls, weapons and hate?

People do not kill with out cause, what is that cause? Does anyone truly know?

OH MY GOD - I WANNA COME HOME.

I'm actually shaking right now. 8 bombs have gone off in the city.

I'm 5mins away from the first blast at Liverpool Street Station. X3 buses have also been blown up in Russell Square.

3 died, its chaos. 90 casulaties at Aldgate station more injured.

This is an exert from an email I received, very happily, this morning from a friend of mine in London. I have been worrying about her all night & it is great to know she is ok. My condolences go out to all the people who are not as fortunate & have lost friends & loved ones in this tragedy.

They are of a "sub-human" species, should be eraticated like incects, and yes we are prepared to fight!

Don't let us become monsters in order to defeat monsters. Bono just said this at the U2 concert here in Berlin tonight. I can only agree and my condolences go out to all the innocent people who lost their lives and their families.

By the way, I'm am ONLY referring to the "terrorists." I've been all ver the World, love and appriecate ALL cultures!

I would love to visit: Iran, Yemen, Pakistan, Afganistan, Syria and other places in that area of the World, however, unfortunately it's too dangerous right now. I love their unique culture.

I am only referring to the actual people who carry out these attacks on totally innocent people (like the ones in London, Madrid, etc.). And am not referring to people in any part of the World.

And I could care less what those people think of me.
