I make an effective sherpa for only $45 USF a day.

Well, I only need you one day a week so that's not too bad!!! My people will get back to your people and we'll see what we can work out...

The world is in a terrible state when Tom Cruise gets mad at a guy for spraying a water-pistol at him because he thought it was probably acid.
WHen you actually do get out there and travel, you realise that people are actually nice and don't all want to kill you.

Stevieh, don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you man!!!! And I don't want to cross the street backwards

wouterr, travel100 and mANDm40, have you taken leave of your senses?

Not quite sure what you are referring to, unless it was the "vary your route to the store" joking comment.

As I already said in this thread I'm not changing my travel plans because of any terrorists. As a matter of fact, in 3 weeks I'll be in Kashmir, getting as close as a few kilometers to the "line of control" between India & Pakistan.

(Jeffrey - did you hear about my last trip to the store and the suicidal furry things that you are suggesting a new route??? Just checking...)

No never heard anything about any "suicidal furry things." But now that you mention it, what dangers are there lurking out there on your road?

I'm thinking maybe you didn't read the first page of this thread.

I'm not changing a thing. We are going to be based in London for at least six months, and we are not going to change that. Sooner or later it will be close to where I love now - I'm amazed that nothing has happened so far. If you are going to live your life with so much caution - you may as well not cross the road everyday because you may get hit by a car.

Again some good thinking. My friends and family are always critizising my travels, always its the bombing thing and the disease thing and the ripoff thing. I hate that soooo much, do you have the same experience? I am glad there are also less boring people on this planet, like on TP

I was planning a trip to Ireland with a friend but we've rethought and are going to try and head up to canada instead.

Canada, the last of the top 5 Al Qeada targets that hasn't been hit (given that experts believe the Bali bombing was targetted at Australia). Canada, in being one of the invader countries (in the mind of Al Qeada) is on the list of places that are due for a terrorist attack.

I'm not trying to convince you not to come to Canada - it's a beautiful country, to be sure. I'm just pointing out that just because nothing has happened here doesn't mean that it's safe. But that doesn't mean you should impact your travel plans. Everywhere in the world has some element of danger to it - even where you live. Go to the website of other countries and see what travel warnings they have posted for your country. It's enlightening to see what others are saying about you.

No problem, we all seem to feel the same way about not allowing these cowards to affect our lives...
