CHICAGO...........two words_culture_food. It is a wonderful city, just never venture to the south side (go as south as chinatown and STOP).
That is it you have chinatown, greektown, little italy, pieces of ireland, russia, bosnia all in a 5-10 mile radius. And when you go up north to Addison st (wrigley field) there is little jamaica, ethiopia, and I am sure of plenty more. Also plenty of vitage shops. But of all the food places 2 stick out in my belly.
Gino's is a chicago style pizzaria, with the best deep dish (cheese 1st) chi style pizza. In the world. Very different decor too.
Dave's a little sub place with a selection that makes subway peanut butter and jelly. He also has a fresh smoothie bar.
Don't Forget the miricle mile, navy pier, the museums.
For NO CITY LIFE go North to the gold coast or East to Miller, Michigan City(major beaches), South Bend. Southwestern Michigan (1 1/2 hr NE) has beautiful green drives with u-pick strawberries, apple (summer).
