I was in Toronto for a night and really enjoyed Rex's jazz club.
There was good music, reasonable food and it was smoke-free.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions - who needs a travel agent?

Kyk - are all those places you've mentioned within walking distance? They all sound good, i might just do the walking around thing then.

Reece, unfortunately thats where the wedding is, on the bright side though - at least i wont have to stay at the Dundas hostel!

Yve that would be great, u should be getting a msg off me soon then!

Kensington Market, Chinatown, Queen Street West near Bathhurst and The Annex -- Bloor Street West around Spadina are all within walking distance of each other. Little Italy -- College Street near Bathhurst is a little far to walk, but doable from those locations.

Greektown -- Danforth Ave from Broadview to Pape. Easily accessible by subway. You could walk to Little India -- Gerrard Street between about Greenwood and Coxwell -- but it can be a distance.

The Beaches -- Queen Street East at about Woodbine you would probably need to TTC to.

You know for the internal flights do u have to pay separately for both ways? cant' you buy a return tiket?

ok i'm seriously strapped for cash and ive been looking at the youth hostels and hotels blah blah, and for two nights its still pretty expensive cus i have no one to split the cost with!

So i was wondering because my flight arrives in the evening would it be possible for me to stay at the airport? has anyone done this before and more importantly will i get chucked out?

I know a lot of people who have sleept in airports (including me, but thats another story) its not the most comfortable, but its free. Another possibility is sleeping on the plane, then going to a 24 hour restaurant or coffee shop and drinking lots of coffee until the sun rises, i've done this several times. has some good information and stories

and yes you can get return tickets, what sites have you been looking at?

Yey i've booked my ticket! alot cheaper than the ones i've seen too, so i'm well chuffed!

Change of plans, i'm not not going to Edmunton now and i'm not stopping over for the day in Toronto. Instead, what i'm doing is going to Winnipeg for the wedding, returning to Toronto on Wed 10th. I'm staying at a hostel until the sun14th then i'm off to see the relatives. So i have these four days to do my own stuff!

So now the question is..anything interesting happening in Toronto from Wed10th-14th? Or would anyone like to meet up?
