Travel Forums Europe off to london?

my good friend, told me on the phone yesterday she wants to go to London in Sep this yr, up to Ireland to visit relatives and maybe Paris, and then find a job in London, and she wants me to come.

I'd love to pack up and leave, but I've been planning a big trip next May for a few months to stop-over America (I'm from Australia) then to London to start my trekk around Europe. She's only got $AU 4000 (about 1,700 pounds), and she needs to pay for airfare with that. How easy would it be for her to find a job in London (any decent job?), seeing as that kind of money won't last that long, especially with the poor exchange rate. I'd love to go, but I want to save up a bit more money, and I feel rushed trying to plan a trip in sep, seeing as I want to get a RTW ticket.

Also, do you think it's better to just go with what you have, or wait and work longer to go for longer next year? I want to convince her to wait a bit longer.

London is very expensive, but also pretty easy to find a job. I went there for about 3 months a few years ago and there are hundreds of places to find work - especially if you like working behind a bar or in a shop.

doesn't matter where you work - at least in London you have 'working' holiday
