Hi! Am I wrong? But it seems I'm the first on TP not only from Ukraine but from all other countries in my region... Hello to everybody! Maybe it will be interesting for all to know something about my country? I know that it's usually considered as the poor land with greedy stupid tourists but surely not everyone here is like this. Ukraine is very beutiful country with lots of friendly people and I hope I'm one of them. I'm very easy to get on with and I'd love to meet here some new friends whose interests are close to mine. And most of all I like travelling- discovering new places and culture, meeting new people, taking favourite photos... I can tell a lot about countries of Eastern Europe - Poland, Czechia, Hungary, former Yugoslavian and USSR countries... I've also been in Turkey and Egypt, my last trip was this May in Tunisie - Oh! How beautiful are the sands and oasises... This year I'm planning short trip through Europe - Berlin, Paris and Italy on Christmas - and after that (ah! viza!) I'll have possibility to make my trips everywhere I want... It will be nice to find some company here! Cheers!
welcome to TP! I have never been to the Ukraine, but would be very interested to go, or at least hear more stories about it! Looking forward to your posts in the forums and congrats on the visa, I can imagine that makes life for ukrainian travellers a lot easier.
When are you planning to travel around Europe? Let me know if you need any advice on Berlin, I'm more than happy to give you some info.
enjoy your travels,
Welcome to TP!!
Though I believe there are other members from the Ukraine and your region in general, it's always nice to have one more!!!!! And, I think my country has you beat in the greedy, stupid tourist arena - but we're not all like that either!
Have fun planning your trip and see you in the forums!!
Welcome to TP!!!
I've been to Ukraine and really liked it. I crossed the border form Poland, in my rental car, and went to L'viv. L'viv is really a beautiful city! If it weren't so hard to get to (ie- visas, border crossing (a real adventure in itself) I think L'viv would be the next Prague or Krakow.
Anyway, welcome again to TP. Have you been to L'viv?
Thanks to everybody and welcome - visas are no more needed for you
Yes, L'viv is very beautiful city and in spite of I was born and live in Kiev L'viv is my favourite place in Ukraine. I've been there many times and know all the ins and outs.
It is also worth to travel through Carpathian mountains, visit small cities in Western part of the country where lot of lost castles and very beautiful views.
And the Crimea is also very beautiful and if you come not in summer season - you'll enjoy such trip very much. I'll post some photos from my trekkings in Crimean mountains later and I hope you'll find for you new places to come
Another warm TP welcome to you!
I have always wanted to visit the Ukraine (I have a pretty long list )
Heloo, Galka, welcome to TP!
Hi galka, and welcome!
Interesting you say no visa's are required for Ukraine now. I've been told that you still have to have a tourist visa. Will have to look into this as i really want to visit this year.

Hi Galka! Welcome to TP! I made it through the last two years of college with another girl I met in class and she was from Ukraine as well. Later on, I had the opportunity to attend her very Russian/Jewish wedding. Nothing but Russian food and music, loved the experience!!
I hope to visit Russia some day and of course, I have to see Ukraine no matter what!
