Going to finish off 2 months of travelling with a two week stint in Thailand - fly into Bangkok (mid Jan 06). Realistically, how much can I do and see in 2 weeks?? More importantly, what should I do and see given the time I've got????

I did fancy getting down south to see those marvellous beaches....

I recently got back from a 10 day trip to Thailand.
At 1st I thought that i was gonna need more time but I managed to do the following.

Bangkok- stayed here for one full day & night then got a taxi to Pattaya. (approx 2½ hours)

We stayed in Pattaya for 2 nights then booked a flight to Koh Samui where we stayed for a further 5 nights in a hut on Chaweng Beach.

We then flew back to bangkok for one last night before we headed home

I would advise going to one of the islands. This is what made our holiday.

Bangkok is a bit of a dump to be honest & Pattaya is ok for a couple of days but the sleaze factor is unreal.

Koh Samui is amazing, beautiful white beaches etc.

1 day in bangkok - you really did not see much.

I would say a week in bangkok and around and a week in chang mai. Leave beaches for the next time

hi adsey,

how about krabi? got really nice beaches there, you're not 'stranded' on an island, loads of things to see, if you still got the hots for temples, markets and stuff or just hire a scooter an drive around. that's the way we found the nemo factory !

the return flight from BKK is about a hundred US$.

have a nice trip,

Sorry MASSAGEUK but I got to get some R&R on a beautiful beach before heading home!

I've made a note of where you guys went and thanks for the info - Simo how much was the flight to Koh Samui?

If anyone else is reading this then please contribute your thoughts. I've got 2 weeks in Thailand, any more suggestions on how to spend it

Krabi is really the prettiest part of Thailand. Beautiful beaches, great diving, plenty of islands to explore. You can have a boatman drop you off at a secluded island, spend the day and get picked up before nightfall. An experience you will remember for many years.
