To enjoy the weather as well as the sights, I suggest the following summer locations:

1) California--Monterey Bay, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Lake Tahoe, and Santa Barbara are all great

2) Washington State--beautiful in Seattle and the San Juan Islands this time of year.

3) Alaska--this is the only time to really go up there from what everybody says--too cold the rest of the year.

4) New England--while the leaves aren't yet changing color, places like Boston, Kennebuckport (Maine), and Newport (Rhode Island) are all great (and a lot cooler than New York).

Also, if you can handle the heat--Las Vegas really rocks in the summertime--but it's 105 degrees Farenheit for the daily highs.

Enjoy.

And, there is SeaWorld/Busch Gardens which is great too.

If you are in to historical sights, the USS Midway is docked there.

This is a nice time to visit Lake Michigan. There are a lot of places you can visit around Lake Michigan in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan states. I have been there recently and enjoyed my trip a lot.

I would suggest tahoe right now it is really warm for tahoe like 90 and the humidity is low to none. You can visit reno while your there and Hot august nights a car show will be there for a week you would have to look up the dates. Also you can do tons of hiking mountain biking, rafting, canoeing and so much more.

Gotta say that the West coast is beautiful right now. Watched a bunch of different levels of fog on the way to work today and the afternoon was spectacular. Almost chilly at night out here in Oakland. Perfect for sleeping! Finding out about alot of great hiking in Marin County. I would definitely wait until fall to visit the North East of the country. Gotta see the foliage in VT in late September. Grafton, a place I worked in for a year, is said to be one of the top 5 most beautiful places in the country!
Send me a PM if I can be of any help. I have been up and down the East Coast and through the Mid-West and now through a bit of the South.
Good Travellin'!;)
