Hi!

Was wondering how much of a pain it is to get your Vietnam visa while in Bangkok, how long does it take and what does it involve?

Cheers x

Do you still have to tell them the exact date and location that you will enter Vietnam, and the exact date and place that you will leave Vietnam?

You need dates... also need to give the name of where you intend to stay from memory (just pick one out of lonely planet)... not sure how strict the vietnamese officials are if you arive after the date you say you will... I dont think this would matter as long as you are using the visa within the dates specified on it... having said that I arrived and left on the days specified on my visa so I cant say for certain... I think it would be best to contact a Vietnamese embassy...

I got 3 VN visas in Phnom Penh from travel agents and they did not ask when I was going to leave or stay. I just paid my $28 and got a one month visa. No hassle, took one day and could not be easier. The clock starts on your visa when it is issued, not when you enter. Get your visa in PP if you are going to travel through Cambodia as well. Good luck with your trip.

Sounds like it's a lot easier to get the visa in Cambodia, than here in the USA. It was a hassel when I got mine, in 2001, from Washington DC. I had to give them the exact dates and places I'd enter & leave.

I got quotes from the VN Embassy in Washington D.C. and passed. I had used the PP guesthouses before and knew how easy it is, much cheaper as well. If you are going to be in Cam anyway, get it there. Send me a message if you want specifics.
