I am going to Barcelona in August, what do I have to see(museums), where will I experience the real Barcelona atmosphere (bars, squers)!
Is there anything I would really have to do while I am already there?

Some of my best memories are from eating tapas in small local places. They just have big platters of food and everyone grabs what they want. At the end, you hand in the tooth picks that are in every tapas and they count those to bill you.... coming from Holland, that kind of trust is mind boggling :)

Hi milo1,

Barcelona has lots of amazing buildings designed by the architect Antoni Gaudi and it's definitely worth to check them out (eg. the church Sagrada Familia). I also absolutely love Park Guell, located on a mountain (excellent view over the city) in the neighborhood of the suburb of Gracia. There you'll find a lush vegetation and a central plaza overlooking the sea.

For going out at night, I really like the Gothic Quarter in the middle of old Barcelona. It has lots of narrow and in many cases, pedestrianised streets and squares, full of character and charme, and hosts a large number of bars and restaurants.

Hope this helps!

Steff
