hi, i read in the malaysian star newspaper that malaysian airlines and air asia will be teaming up and flying from kl to chongqing at a reasonable price - more airasia than malaysian airline price, but this is at the end of the year. another alternative if you have time to do it would be to fly to thailand and travel to the north of thailand and catch a boat on the mekong river into southern china, it would probably take about 3 days...it depends on whether you can be bothered... hope the guys gave you all the advice you needed. good luck peace |

Afraid there are not many choices left ex-Malaysia unless Malaysian airlines announces some cheap fares. Best of Luck. |

cikusang, if you would like to fly direct to beijing, i thk going by MAS, SIA or Cathay is better, provided you want a stop-over, like if you taking airasia to xiamen then you can take a train which is abt RM300 (soft sleeper) for 2 days, which is a looong joureny fr xiamen fly to beijing is around RMB1700, which is quite costly too. |
