Much like Grubs comments, I'm planning to go to Riga with about 10 lads in October.

I've tried to do research over the net but was hoping for some no bullsh*t reviews.

Basically, we're a decent bunch, not louts or anything like that and we are after cheap drinks and a good laugh.

Is Riga worth a visit?

Yes, absolutely, but be warned that they are rapidly tiring of lareg groups of pissed British men/women on stag/hen do's, so don't be surprised if they refuse entry to larger groups (i.e. 10) in some places. Thats nothing to do with how loud etc you are, but general policy in some places now. Of course, there are still plenty of options and places to go.

just got back from riga with 3 friends, spent 10 days there we were meant to move on to tallin but it never happened we were just too wasted! Our accommodation was a brothel. My advice would be to anyone to go when the tourist have gone, im going back in late october for some unfinished business! watch the strip clubs coz they can seriously rip u off. Black cats does the best steaks ive ever tasted and is open ill 7am, good to mong out and carry on drinking and play pool.

Nice one Grub,

Thanks for the Black Cats tip, are there any other bars/clubs that you would recommend?

What's the average price of a beer out there?

Cheers

Yes Riga is a fine city with a great atmosphere, friendly people and pretty women BUT I'm afraid I'm none too impressed with the badly behaved English stag party mob who seem to behave like an invading army of drunken soldiers intent upon arrogantly abusing the locals and propositioning the local girls in the street - come on England!! - get your act together - your louts are NOT amusing - I'm afraid that you are now regarded as the pariahs of Europe and all British are suffering the consequences as of course are the local people in Riga, Tallinn, Prague, Amsterdam etc, etc, etc
